This time of year, things start to get pretty slow
in the law business from now through the
middle of January. There aren't many people
who want to spend money on a lawyer with
Christmas coming up; and, for the most part,
most people do not 'bust up' or make big
legal manuevers during the Thanksgiving,
Christmas and New Year's holiday season.
Most of the calls we do get are people calling
over an argument with their ex about, for
example, the time or meeting place of the
exchange of the child for a certain holiday.
Because I honestly point out to these callers
that the Judge will not hear their case until
after the holiday and what they will spend
paying me to argue about a single day or
event, those callers do not come through as
clients. So please do right by yourself and/or
your child, your family, or your child's "other
family," to be civilized and enjoy this season.

My name is Joel K. Mitchell. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma
Law School in 1999 and have been practicing law and in business since
that time. I have more than a decade of experience and have seen through
several hundred cases in my career.

I have two office locations in the Tulsa, Oklahoma, area, as you can see
above, and the multiple locations exist for the convenience of my clients.

My practice is focused in only those areas of law you see listed at the top of
this page. I devote myself to those areas, primarily bankruptcy and family
law, where I bring a great deal of experience with me to the courtroom. I
strive to remain affordable yet aggressive, not charging a client for
unnecessary work while striving to get the results that client seeks.
